A tribute to Dawn Barrah

St Paul’s Players have lost one of their longest-standing and most dedicated members, Dawn Barrah, after she lost her fight with cancer.

She was a huge personality, not only within drama circles locally, but also in her many other spheres of interest, including the disabled, animal welfare and the annual Portishead Flower Show.

The large number present at her memorial service at St Nicholas Church in Portishead was a testament to the many lives she touched and the depth with which she was loved.

She was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.

Although there are no other awards given in this round, Jane Andrews drew particular praise for her portrayal of Beatrice from judge Colin Dolley.

St Paul’s Players now go on to compete in the third round being held at the Carlton Theatre in Teignmouth, South Devon on Saturday 16th May.
